Potion of Invisibility Overview

The Potion of Invisibility is a Potion that has a positive effect. The effect is Invisibility. Once you use the Potion, you will become invisible while still generating particle effects.

Potion of Invisibility only has basic and + variants. Depending on the Minecraft Edition, here are some of the basic stuff of the Invisibility effect.

In Minecraft Java

1. If you’re getting attacked before you use the Potion of Invisibility in Minecraft java, the hostile mob still will attack you.
2. When you use the Potion of Invisibility, hostile mobs won’t recognize you. But, if you’re getting close to them, they will attack and start attack as they would.
3. If you’re using armor while being invisible, hostile mobs will recognize you easily. Try sneaking.
4. If you hit a hostile mob while they can’t see you, it will immediately attack back and start attack as they would.

In Minecraft Bedrock

1. If you use the Potion of Invisibility while getting followed by hostile mobs, they will forget you immediately.
2. While being invisible, if you start getting very close to a hostile mob, it will attack you once and not follow you.
3. A hostile mob will recognize you easily if you’re using armor. If you’re getting followed, try to make a distance, it will forget you afterward.
4. If you hit a hostile mob while they can’t see you, it will immediately attack back and follow you. Try to make a distance so that it will forget you.

How to Make the Potions

Unlike most Potions, to make Potion of Invisibility, you need Potion of Night Vision. You can make Potion of Night Vision by combining Golden Carrot and Awkward Potion in the Brewing Stand.

Notes: 

• When Brewing any Potions, make sure you put three Potions (or Water Bottles, if you try to make Awkward Potions) for the Output.
• There are three types of Potions you can make. The first one is the basic, the second one (with + at the end of its name) comes extended duration, and level II (with increased effect power and lower time). But in this case, there are only two, the basic one and the extended duration (+).
• In-game, the extended Potion doesn’t come with + at the end of its name. It’s a mark to lets you differentiate each Potion.

To make the basic Potion of Invisibility, put Potion of Night Vision and Fermented Spider Eye into the Brewing Stand. The basic Potion of Invisibility has a duration of 3 minutes.

To make Potion of Invisibility +, put Redstone and basic Potion of Invisibility. The Potion of Invisibility has a duration of 8 minutes.

2. Splash Potion of Invisibility

The main ingredient for making Splash Potion is Gunpowder.

In Minecraft Java Edition, use Gunpowder and desired Potion (basic or +). And your Potion will be converted into Splash Potion, with all effects and durations remaining the same.

In Minecraft Bedrock, use Gunpowder and desired Potion (basic or +). All the effects remain the same, but the duration changes.

• Basic Splash Potion of Invisibility: 02:15 seconds
• Splash Potion of Invisibility +: 6 minutes.

3. Lingering Potion of Invisibility

To make a basic Lingering Potion of Invisibility, put basic Splash Potion of Invisibility and Dragon’s Breath into the Brewing Stand. The basic Lingering Potion of Invisibility has a duration of 45 seconds.

Now, to make Lingering Potion of Invisibility +. Put Dragon’s Breath and Splash Potion of Invisibility +. The Lingering Potion of Invisibility + has a duration of 2 minutes.

When Lingering Potion is thrown, the lingering effect will last up to 26 seconds. The durations you see above (45 seconds and 2 minutes) are for the Invisibility effect and not how long lingering particles will last.
