Potion of Regeneration Overview

Potion of Regeneration is a Potion that has a positive effect. The effect is Regeneration. It heals 1 Health (a half Heart) over time.

• Regeneration (level 1) heals 1 Health (a half Heart) for every 2.5 seconds.
• Regeneration II heals 1 Health (a half Heart) for every 1.5 seconds.

Just like Potion of Poison, Potion of Regeneration has two duration. The first duration is for how long the Regeneration effect will last. And the second one is for how frequently you got 1 Health (a half Heart).

For example, the basic Potion of Regeneration heals 1 Health (a half Heart) for every 2.5 seconds with a duration of 45 seconds. 45 divided by 2.5 is 18. So, the basic Potion of Regeneration could heal HP up to 18 (9 Hearts).

How to Make the Potion

Before making a Potion of Regeneration, make sure you make Awkward Potions first by putting Nether Wart and Water Bottle into the Brewing Stand.

Notes: 

1. When Brewing any Potions, make sure you put three Potions (or Water Bottles, if you try to make Awkward Potions) for the Output. 
2. There are three types of Potions you can make. The first one is the basic, the second one (with + at the end of its name) comes extended duration, and level II (with increased effect power and lower time). 
3. In-game, the extended and upgraded Potion doesn’t come with + and II at the end of its name. Both are marks to lets you differentiate each Potion.

1. Potion of Regeneration

To make the basic Potion of Regeneration, put Ghast Tear and Awkward Potion into the Brewing Stand. The Potion of Regeneration has a duration of 45 seconds and comes with Regeneration (level 1).

To make Potion of Regeneration +, put Redstone and basic Potion of Regeneration. Potion of Regeneration + comes with a duration of 01:30 seconds for Minecraft Java and 2 minutes for Minecraft Bedrock. It comes with Regeneration (level 1).

Now, to make Potion of Regeneration II. Put Glowstone and Potion of Regeneration. The Potion of Regeneration II has a duration of 22 seconds and comes with Regeneration II.

2. Splash Potion of Regeneration

The main ingredient for making Splash Potion is Gunpowder.

In Minecraft Java Edition, use Gunpowder and desired Potion (basic, +, or level II). And your Potion will be converted into Splash Potion, with all effects and durations remaining the same.

In Minecraft Bedrock, use Gunpowder and desired Potion (basic, +, or level II). All the effects remain the same, but the duration changes (except Splash Potion of Regeneration +).

1. Basic Splash Potion of Regeneration duration: 33 seconds.

3. Lingering Potion of Regeneration

To make the basic Lingering Potion of Regeneration. Put Dragon’s Breath and basic Splash Potion of Regeneration. Basic Lingering Potion of Regeneration comes with Regeneration (level 1) and a duration of 11 seconds. 

To make Lingering Potion of Regeneration +. Put Dragon’s Breath and Splash Potion of Regeneration +. Lingering Potion of Regeneration + comes with Regeneration (level 1) and a duration of 22 seconds (Java) and 30 seconds (Bedrock).

Now, to make Potion of Regeneration II. Put Dragon’s Breath and Splash Potion of Regeneration II. Lingering Potion of Regeneration II comes with Regeneration II and a duration of 5 seconds.

When Lingering Potion is thrown, the lingering effect will last up to 30 seconds. The durations you see above (11 seconds, 22/30 seconds, and 5 seconds) are for the Regeneration effect and not how long lingering particles will last.
