Potion of Harming Overview

Potion of Harming is a Potion that has a negative effect. The effect is Instant Damage. It instantly decreases health points once the Potion of Harming is used. Because of this, Potion of Harming doesn’t have any duration and extended Potion (+). Also, because of its effect, the Potion of Harming should be thrown at mobs or opponents.

• Instant Damage (level 1) decreases health by 6 (3 Hearts).
• Instant Damage II decreases health by 12 (6 Hearts).
• Both apply to Potion of Harming and Splash Potion of Harming.

Undead mobs won’t get damaged when Splash or Lingering Potion of Harming is thrown to them. Instead, they got healed.

How to Make the Potion

Unlike most Potions, to make the first Potion of Harming requires another Potion. It can be a Potion of Healing or a Potion of Poison. 

Notes: 

1. When Brewing any Potions, make sure you put three Potions (or Water Bottles, if you try to make Awkward Potions) for the Output. 
2. There are three types of Potions you can make. The first one is the basic, the second one (with + at the end of its name) comes extended duration, and level II (with increased effect power and lower time). But in this case, there are only two, the basic one and level II.

To make the basic Potion of Harming, put Fermented Spider Eye and Potion of Healing or Potion of Poison into the Brewing Stand. The basic Potion of Harming decreases health points by 6 (3 Hearts).

Now, to make Potion of Harming II. There are two ways, you can put Potion of Poison II or Potion of Healing II with Fermented Spider Eye. Or, you can put Fermented Spider Eye with the basic Potion of Harming. The Potion of Harming II decreases health points by 12 (6 Hearts).

2. Splash Potion of Harming

The main ingredient to make Splash Potions is Gunpowder.

To make Splash Potion of Harming, use Gunpowder and desired Potion (basic or level II). And your Potion will be converted into Splash Potion, with all effects remaining the same.

3. Lingering Potion of Harming

The main ingredient to make Lingering Potions is Dragon’s Breath.

To make the basic Lingering Potion of Harming, put Dragon’s Breath and the basic Splash Potion of Harming. The basic Lingering Potion of Harming decreases health points by 3 (2 and a half Hearts).

Now, to make Lingering Potion of Harming II. Put Dragon’s Breath and Splash Potion of Harming II into the Brewing Stand. The Lingering Potion of Harming decreases health points by 6 (3 Hearts).
