Netherite Ingot Overview
Netherite Ingot is a new type of material in the Nether Update. It can be used to make Netherite items, upgrade Diamond items/gear like Diamond Chestplate, Diamond Pickaxe, etc. into Netherite item using the Smithing Table. It also can be used to select power in the Beacon. Netherite Ingot is stronger and more durable than Diamond.
What makes it unique is that Netherite Ingot cannot be burned, and it floats on Lava. Unlike other Ores in Minecraft, Netherite Ingot cannot be obtained by mining a “Netherite Ore” Player must combine Netherite Scrap and Gold Ingot to get it.
Below are the tutorials on how to get the Netherite Scraps, Gold Ingots, and how to craft the Netherite Ingot. Remember, you can use the table of contents.
How to Get Netherite Scrap
To get Netherite Scrap, you need to find Ancient Debris in the Nether first. But Ancient Debris is extremely rare, so be patient when searching them.
Here are tips for mining the Ancient Debris.
- Try mine in Y=15 (most of the Ancient Debris are on that level).
- You can only use either a Diamond Pickaxe or Netherite Pickaxe to mine Ancient Debris.
- Feel free to use TNT, since Ancient Debris has high blast resistance, it immunes to an explosion. Using TNT speeds up the process of finding Ancient Debris.
There is another way to get Ancient Debris, through the Bastion Remnant Chest. Sometimes you can find Ancient Debris in there. But you have to be careful opening the Chest inside the Bastion Remnant can provoke the Piglins.
After you’ve got the Ancient Debris, you need to smelt them using Furnace (or Blast Furnace if you want to quicker). You will get Netherite Scrap after you smelt the Ancient Debris.
How to Get Gold Ingot
They are many different ways to get Gold Ingot. So here they are:
1. Get Gold Ingot inside the Chest
You can find the Chest in most places, like Dungeon, Mineshaft, Bastion Remnant, Buried Treasure, Desert Temple, End City, Jungle Temple, Nether Fortress, Ruined Portal, Shipwreck (Java Edition only), Stronghold, Village, and Woodland Mansion.
There are also Gold Blocks inside the Ocean Monument that later can be crafted into Gold Ingots.
You can use seeds that this website provides to get to those places quickly.
2. Killing Mobs
Zombified Piglins and Drowned have a chance to drop Gold Ingot. Try to kill them.
3. Craft it
You can craft Gold Ingots from 9 Gold Nuggets, or you can use Gold Block to get 9 Gold Ingots.
4. Mining Gold Ore or Nether Gold Ore
The genuine way to obtain Gold Ingot is by mining the Ores. There 2 Ores that can be mined. First is Gold Ore that can be found in the underground (Y=30) or Badland (Y=30 – 80). Try mine in Badland if it is possible.
The second is Nether Gold Ore, which only generates inside the Nether (Y=10 – 117). You have to be careful not to mine it near the Piglins because they will attack you if you do so.
Don’t forget to smelt Gold Ore/Nether Gold Ore using a Furnace or Blast Furnace.
How to Craft Netherite Ingot
After you’ve got the Netherite Scraps and Gold Ingots, now you can craft them into Netherite Ingot, here is how you do it.
You need 4 Netherite Scraps and 4 Gold Ingots to craft a Netherite Ingot. You can use any position you want as long as you put all materials.
Another Way to Get Netherite Ingot
There is only one way to get Netherite Ingot besides crafting it. Netherite Ingot can be found inside the Bastion Remnant Chest. But once again, you have to be careful of Piglins and Brute Piglin too.
